| Etiquette Assembly Programs For Schools |

September 8, 2004 -- In a recent survey of educators, the teaching of the Golden Rule was found to be an "urgent necessity." Is courtesy dead, or is it just hibernating? Roxanne Diesel has found that hibernating within most students are good manners that they have been learning all their lives and they are just waiting to come out.
The most basic manners of word and deed will be reviewed in the assembly program as well as the lost art of table manners! This fun-filled program is based on the belief that with the proper motivation and understanding, courtesy will live again in your students! Educational Objective: For students to realize the importance of courtesy in our society and regularly practice the manners they already know.
This course is designed to instill the basic rules of etiquette presented in a fun way. Subjects covered in the 60-minute assembly program include: General Etiquette; Introductions, The Six Pillars of Character and Table Manners. When students understand that etiquette stems from consideration, sensitivity, integrity, loyalty, trustworthiness, compromise and respect then they have learned the essence of a true lady or gentleman.
The teaching method is approached from the point of view that for learning to sink in it has to be pleasurable. Using lecture, Q & A sessions, audience participation and role-playing combined with other schoolmates doing this together and enjoying it makes this program work.
Roxanne still teaches 6-week Etiquette classes through local recreation districts as well as Camp Manners during the summer.
