July 2003 - General Motors, 3M, Motorola, Owens Corning, Deere & Co., Eaton, Pilkington, Owens-Illiniois, Northwest Airlines, Pfizer Inc, Chevron, Levi Strauss & Co, and Verizon have joined together with a shared mission to transform the way their companies research, design, purchase, package, and communicate career development and skill enhancement courses to over 2 million employees.
The result is LearnShare, a consortium that pools the resources and knowledge of 13 of the largest and most diverse corporations in the world.
There are thousands of vendors in North America promoting programs and services to corporate training and development departments,” said Lois Webster, chief executive officer of LearnShare.
“VIP provides a protective barrier against an avalanche of sales pitches, while equipping training and development managers with an instant access tool for informed decisions in selecting the right resources to meet specific learning requirements. This includes courses, consultation, testing, and technology, and custom development of training and development programs.”
“NovoLogic is very proud and honored that the LearnShare consortium has selected NovoLogic as one of its VIP vendors for custom content development and strategic learning consulting…” notes Burke Allen, President and CEO of NovoLogic. “… and we look forward to sharing in the distribution ad enhancement of best practices with its members.”
