Now, though, vintage clothes lovers can simply click over to 555Mildredz, browse the inventory and place an order for something cool that they crave but don’t see there.

“Whether it’s a red faux leather purse or a Farrah Fawcett T-shirt that you wish for, I’m scouring the thrift stores, garage sales, and flea markets to find them,” says Mildred Beason, owner of 555Mildredz, who opened the online store to expand the clientele she’d served mainly through word of mouth.

555Mildredz offers a photo of each vintage item for sale, a description and a rating for its condition, from fair to mint. The wares are also classified in categories – “classic” for clothes that are simple in style but strong in character, “fun” for outfits that you can have a good time in and “casual” for pieces you can just throw on and go about your business.

“I group them according to their look because the cut, color, and the type of fabric used all work together or alone to give you an image that comes to mind when you see it. And that’s when you start to come up with all kind of ideas of how you could wear it,” Beason explains.
